Densetsu palace is the home of the empress and the rest of the royal family. The huge and ornate building is situated at the foot of a mountain. Besides the throne room, where the empress can most often be found, there are also meeting rooms for various other government officials, who discuss policy changes and new laws before submitting them to the empress for approval. The highest military authorities conduct their most important meetings in the palace, which is well protected by the palace guards. Also contained within the grounds of the palace are the palace gardens, which are considered a holy site, and religious authorities conduct ceremonies there to plead with the gods for the end of the civil war, and the continued health of the royal family. Sacrifices, however, are often performed outside on the steps of the palace where all citizens can come and watch. Deep beneath the palace itself is the heavily guarded treasury of the royal family, and even further underground are the catacombs, the final resting place of the long dynasties of rulers who came before the current one.
